Necessary Endings

Good Morning,

Dr Henry Cloud has written a very insightful book called Necessary Endings. In it he describes that endings are a normal part of life. And while it is true that many endings bring with them some sadness, nearly all of them create an opportunity for new beginnings. Jobs, training programs, small groups, large conferences, business arrangements, all of them have a life cycle, a season if you will.

For the better part of the last eleven years the Monday Morning Minute has had a season. But like the things mentioned above, it is not an endless one. So today this season is coming to an end.

It has always been my desire in writing these missives to pass along truth, a challenge, some wisdom, and a dose encouragement that is practical and relevant to the various aspects of your life. My hope too, is that you have found ways to engage your faith in ways that make a difference in your life and the lives of those you touch. For without question, our relationship with Jesus, if genuine, must show everywhere we show up. The truth of God’s Word has never been more relevant than it is today.

As I considered what to leave you with it seemed appropriate to go back to the closing challenge that has been part of over 500 of these writings, “Live on purpose”.  My initial motivation for starting to write the MMM was to help each of us realize the brevity of our days on this earth and to treat each one with thought and intention. That never changed. My driving core value is to stay in the game and finish well; die in battle.  I hope and pray that some of you have caught that same desire for your own life.

So in closing let me encourage you to; be involved in something that will continue after you do, never forget to live for the long end of the rope, let Jesus flavor your entire life, not just parts of it, invest in those who will take your place of leadership, ground your identity in what God says about you not your performance, leave a legacy that will continue into eternity, love extravagantly, laugh abundantly, give generously, don’t take yourself too seriously and of course…

Live on purpose,

Ron Klopfenstein, CPLC

P.S. Don’t forget that you can still have the MMM by ordering the book Best of Monday Morning Minute in either paper back or Kindle version. Pick up your copy and engage it some others who also want to Live in purpose.
