Signs of Forgiveness

Good Morning,

This month, we have looked at two Biblical stories of forgiveness and renewal. Without question, these are just two of many in Scripture. To finish this series, let’s look at what this could and should look like today?

If the only stories we point to are from the bible, then people could legitimately wonder if those nice stories are just that. Stories from centuries ago, but without modern-day power and relevance. Forgiving people is hard. It goes against our human inclinations. But without forgiveness, renewal is not possible. The renewal and rebirth made possible by Christ goes hand in hand with His unfathomable and undeserved forgiveness. He in turn can empower us to forgive others.

If we are to be the hands and feet of Jesus, then forgiveness must become a way of living not just a random act. Here is the kicker, forgiving someone not only frees them, but it frees us as well. Frees us from needing retribution and frees us from bitterness. It can bring about renewal for our life and make it possible in the life of those forgiven.

I would ask you to please click on the picture below and watch this 2-minute video and then consider three questions (credit Bluefish TV).

1.    What would my sign say?

2.    Does my life reflect a pattern of forgiveness?

3.    Is there someone I need to forgive, and thereby birth a powerful story of renewal?

Live on purpose,
