Every Time You
Good Morning,It is so easy when looking at the problems around us to throw up our hands and say I can’t begin to make a dent in them. For certain there are some big issues. Just as certain is the reality that each one of us can make small differences which when combined with the efforts of others changes our society and culture. It has been that way since the beginning of time. Most changes, good or bad, take place in small increments. The key then is taking small steps and making small decisions in a positive direction.I was looking through some of my old teaching materials the other day and came across something I wrote for a lesson back in 2002. It still applies today. Here it is just like I wrote it 16 years ago.
- Every time you decide to stand against the tide of sin, evil is pushed back a little.
- Every time you resist sexual temptation moral decay is slowed a little.
- Every time you tell the truth when it is painful or costs you, the light of integrity shines a little brighter.
- Every time you refrain from using bad language, vulgarity suffers a little.
- Every time you speak a word of encouragement, despair weakens its hold on someone a little.
- Every time you offer a cup of water to someone in need, God’s kingdom gets noticed a little.
- And…Every time you share your faith in some way hope grows a little.
I hope this gives you some encouragement to keep living your life like it matters, because it does.Live this week on purpose,
