Literally Everywhere

Good Morning,

Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. Psalm 139:7-10

Without question these are beautiful and powerful words.  They create a picture of a fully present and all-encompassing God.  As Christ-followers it can be easy to read a passage of scripture like this and leave it at that – a beautiful piece of prose. It is much more than that.  It is life altering truth that can change our approach to life.  It speaks of a God ever present in our past, our present and our future.  Allow me to add a few more sentences of application to illustrate this.

Where can I go from your Spirit? In the middle of a hurtful divorce you are there. In a job that is sucking the life out of me, you are there; in the strained relationships with loved ones you are there.

When fear of the future paralyzes me, and when the lies of the Enemy that I am inadequate depress me, you are there.  When I face a sobering medical diagnosis, you are there. When a financial crisis looms large even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.

God really is in the middle of everything with you.  He is fully present here, there, and … Literally Everywhere!

Live this week on purpose,
Ron Klopfenstein
